Lancashire was awarded Beacon status for their work on Transforming the School Workforce. Working in the pedagogical area of support staff there is a dedicated team of 11 trainers and assessors who are occupationally competent to meet the needs of the Awarding Bodies. All trainers have at least a Certificate in Education and the majority are teacher advisors. They are experienced in delivery to both support staff and teachers and have the skills and empathy to move people step by step through the qualification ladder from induction training to HLTA assessment.
All vocational staff have appropriate assessor and internal verifier awards and some are also external verifiers. All staff undertake regular training sessions in order to keep up to date with new initiatives and qualifications. Lancashire is at the forefront in the development of performance management and CPD strategies for support staff and is currently working with the TDA on further developments in this area.
Excellent conference and meeting venues are available at the Woodlands Conference Centre and at their modern offices in Chorley which have well resourced training rooms.
Delivery of learning is based within the learners’ school and where needed venues for workshops which are within LEA or community learning facilities with IT suites and interactive facilities.
